TransCanada Corporation is a major supporter of the Pacific Salmon Foundation's Skeena Salmon Program based in the Skeena Watershed in Northern British Columbia. The Skeena is one of the most productive and biologically diverse watersheds in Canada. With an area of 55,0000 km2., it is the second largest salmon -producing watershed in the province after the Fraser. The Skeena Salmon Program helps provide ongoing public access to baseline scientific information for Skeena salmon and their habitats - a critical need identified by federal, provincial and First Nations governments, industry, environmental stewards, and others. TransCanada contributions have also helped restore Skeena salmon habitat through the Foundation's Community Salmon Program.
