Non-profit Sitka Foundation strives to be a catalyst in the conservation of the environment and the promotion of biodiversity. Since 2012, Sitka Foundation has donated $100,000 annually to support creation of the Strait of Georgia Data Centre, the debut initiative for the Pacific Salmon Foundation’s Salish Sea Marine Survival Project Much of what is known about the Strait exists on obsolete media or in the memories of retired lead researchers. The Data Centre will provide a central repository for all of this information. Read more about the project and the Foundation’s partnership with Sitka Foundation on p. 17 of the Salmon Steward 2014 annual edition.
