Dr. Di Cicco obtained both his Veterinary Medicine Doctorate and his PhD in Veterinary Sciences at the University of Camerino (Italy), dealing with Fish Health and Fish Histopathology on rainbow trout and aquarium/ornamental fish. He also spent the first year of PhD studies at the Centre of Coastal Health, at the Vancouver Island University (VIU), focusing on the assessment of sustainability indicators for salmon farming in British Columbia. He then worked as Fish Histopathology Consultant for the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Camerino.
Dr. Di Cicco is currently the Project Manager of the Strategic Salmon Health Initiative (SSHI). He also works as a researcher for the SSHI using novel molecular approaches to provide insight on fish diseases.
