Conservation Stamp

Since 1989, Pacific Salmon Foundation and Fisheries and Oceans Canada have been working together to support salmon and stewardship through the annual Salmon Conservation Stamp and Competition.

Any angler must purchase a new stamp each year and affix it to their tidal water license if they wish to retain any species of salmon. $1.00 of the proceeds from the sale of each conservation stamp is contributed to PSF to help support salmon restoration and enhancement efforts in BC. PSF also produces and sells limited edition prints of the winning painting each year to further assist fundraising for conservation initiatives.

These funds are what forms the base of the Community Salmon Program. If you saltwater fish for salmon in BC, you are a contributor to the conservation and restoration of salmon through the efforts of PSF.

Hosted by PSF, the 20th Annual Salmon Conservation Stamp Art Competition was won by Ontario artist Mark Hobson's entry, "Sockeye". Take a look in the gallery for the last 20 years of stamp images and for this year's winning entry - or purchase your BC saltwater fishing license for your stamp version.
